Christchurch to Picton

The ferry I booked to Wellington leaves early tomorrow morning, so today was spent mostly driving up to Picton – the town at the Southern end of the ferry – from Christchurch.

My day started out with a list of short errands around town – getting the last things out of the apartment, donating some old clothes, getting my apartment deposit put in the bank. Super exciting!

Weather has been mixed today, with lots of clouds and intermittent rain, but the drive was fine overall.  I picked up a hitchhiker about half an hour out of Christchurch who was heading towards Nelson, and had good conversation with him the whole way.

We stopped at a waterfall a bit North of Kaikoura where baby seals tend to congregate this time of year, and we weren’t disappointed!

Not much else to report, really.
